ANCIENT WEAPON

Hear my prayer, O God, give ears to the word of my mouth - Psalm 54:2

We sometimes see the end time revolution as fictions rather than reality - a story told to keep us in check. We wait in disbelieve for the sun to darken and the stars to fall without any ounce of fear or anticipation. We live life as we please regardless of the repercussions.

We don't go to church to seek God rather we simply go to get our needs met. We forget who we are and what we stand for. We have not realized that time is up! The future is not ahead; the future is now. No more stories about the last days, it is here. This generation is living in it. Prophecies are no more taking years to be fulfilled; earthquakes are no longer heard once in 100years, it occurs as the weeks go by. Pestilence never known to man is invading the earth like wildfire thereby increasing mortality rate. Nations rising against nations and children against parents. The darkened soul of man being filled with satisfaction when the weak is oppressed or killed in pursuit of temporary power that will eventually fade away. Iniquity multiplying and the love of many waxing cold (Matthew 24:7-13).

Time is running out. The question is: what can the saints do? What is the role of the Church? It is disheartening to be at ease in this season. Complacency is unacceptable and shouldn't be accommodated in our lives. Inhabiting in the shelter of comfort and relaxation will make life extremely miserable for all (Isaiah 32:9-13). Now is not the time for glitz and glamour or razzmatazz. It is time to seek the face of God and cry out for revival in our land ( 2Chronicles 7:14). The church must wake up from her numerous activities and programs for it is the season to reveal the power and glory of God on earth.

The devil is leaving no stone unturned in making sure that humanity falls alongside with him. The decadence in the society is rapidly moving to its peak and if nothing is done about it by the Church, we will lose the very essence of our being.

The present day Church must go back to her ancient weapon of PRAYING AND FASTING like the early Apostles did. Revival is unprecedented without supplication. Fasting is one of the greatest spiritual resources we have as believers. It unlocks spiritual authority and spiritual gifts (Matthew 17:30-21). It gives access to power (Luke 1:1-14), it also helps to subdue the flesh (1Corinthians 9:27, Galatians 5:16)

God is in a haste to see mankind return to Him in genuine repentance and know Him as God and the Ultimate source of existence. He just needs yielded vessels, men that would stand in the gap and pray earnestly for release and restoration (Ezekiel 22:30, Habakkuk 2:14).

To live a godly life is not mere talk. It is more than a message. Without fasting and prayer, a holy life is impossible. Unless men pray, God won't act. We must pray for spiritual awakening for all humanity - when people graciously put off the old man of sin and put on the new man in Christ (2Corinthians 5:17).

Brace yourself, for the task ahead is quite demanding. It is time for the Church to go back to her original design - "The light of the world" (Matthew 5:14). We set the standards and the world follows. We are not here to fit in or get accepted. We are here to establish God's kingdom in every sphere of society. If our nation must turn around from increasing moral decline, we must pray. Not praying for mundane or material things that will add little or no value to our lives but praying for genuine repentance. People's lives must change and only Christ can make that happen. That is why we ought to return to the life style of fasting and praying - "Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting" (Matthew 17:21)
