Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. Matthew 26:41
Fervency is paramount in this dispensation. Life won't be sweet and rosy all the time. It seems as though evil is proliferating, and love burried under the quest for power, wealth, and economical dominance. As the days go by, the faith, love, and hope of many is gradually diminishing. People are scared to even breathe let alone talk. Things are getting so bad that even God's elects are succumbing to the new way of hardship and affliction.
No one can survive this turbulence without God; we need Him on a daily basis. A day without fellowship with God is a day wasted indeed (I have experienced it myself and it's definitely not funny). In other for us to be safe from all forms of evil, we need to continually abide in Him because without Him we can do nothing. John 14:15
The devil is coming up with different strategies to divert our attention from the main thing - fellowship with God. Satan knows that constant fellowship with God will be to the detriment of his schemes. He comes up with so many things to thwart our union with God. Every believer is at the risk of complacency. We can't assume victory; we must learn to stay in the place of prayer and study of the Word of God to make our victory a reality.
Have you ever wondered why you don't struggle to sleep but you struggle to pray? Why is it that you can stay on a movie for three hours but barely spend three minutes on the Word? The evil one wants to stop us from communing with God by all means necessary because he knows what's at stake for him. The good thing is that he'd already been defeated but Christians are not enforcing Christ's victory.
Now more than ever we need to draw near to God. There's a new move of the Spirit, the Lord is preparing His endtime army. The second coming of Christ is closer than close and we must be prepared to welcome our Groom. Prayer shouldn't be an option; prayer is a necessity. I encourage you to press on and never relent in the place of prayer. Nobody became a praying guru overnight. It doesn't matter if your 15minutes prayer includes yawning and repetition of words - pray. Even if your mind is wandering with thoughts of sins of the past - still pray. When you feel fearful and unworthy - pray. When you don't feel like it - pray.
The Lord in His infinite mercy didn't leave us stranded in this world, He gave us the Holy Spirit. Isn't that amazing! Trust me, the Holy Spirit is forever ready to help us scale through in all ramifications of life. All that is required is our yieldedness. Remember, it is not your ability; it is His ability in you.
